However it is important for organizations to have effective alignment of culture, compliance and communication between key business leaders, including HR. At the end of this session you will:
- Recognize the relationship between company culture and compliance
- Identify key compliance risks in your HR role
- Understand how to align HR-related risks to your organization’s risk assessment
- Discover methods to collaborate with key business leaders so you are part of the compliance equation

About Our Speaker
Rhonda Travers is a business-oriented leader recognized for making a positive impact, building teams and talent, and driving results. With over 25 years in internal audit, risk, and compliance corporate leadership roles, she has helped business leaders and teams identify critical risks that drive process improvements while achieving operational objectives. Within these roles she also empowered employees to reach their full potential for career development. Rhonda recently fulfilled her passion for educating business leaders and developing professionals by launching Travers Training & Consulting LLC.
Rhonda brings a unique and collaborative approach to internal control, risk analysis, and training & development to focus on people behind the process. In her prior roles, she enjoyed collaborating with HR professionals to identify trending risks and provide value-added audit assessments of human resource functions within the organization. She now leverages her background to bring insight to a client’s employee experience from recruitment through off-boarding with the goal to empower employees, increase engagement, and improve processes. She also provides training by sharing her knowledge through workshop presentations, team training, and speaking engagements.
Rhonda is also committed to making a difference through positive community development. She served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society on the Relay For Life Event Leadership Team for over 15 years and is currently the Missouri Area Relay Leadership Team– Coaching and Development Lead. Rhonda is also involved with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri within the Women’s Leadership Network Steering Committee and is on the Leadership Team for Little Black Book - Women in Business. She has also served as a member of the Board of Governors for the St. Louis Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors for over 10 years.
Rhonda earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Millikin University. She completed the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certifications.
