Psychological Safety - HR's Call to Action

Evidence-based research supports the importance of a psychologically safe workplace. 
As HR professionals and leaders, how are we proactively equipping leaders and teams to build a culture of excellence? How adept are we at noticing when people are not feeling safe or included? Join us for this interactive session with several live scenarios involving local HR professionals, after which attendees will:

• Describe psychological safety and its impact on people and business
• Recognize how individual and team experiences impact inclusion, engagement, and overall willingness to contribute
• Practice intervening in a challenging situation 

 
A compilation of resources for deeper exploration of psychological safety will also be provided. 
 
We welcome you to participate with insights and ideas for our HR community to lead efforts to create safe environments. 

Dawn Newman is an Executive & Professional Coach and Organization Development Consultant with a passion for Quality. She formed A New Dawn Coaching, LLC to focus on coaching leaders and teams. Her clients include leaders in aerospace and defense organizations, universities, healthcare, financial services, government, civic, non-profit, and membership groups.

Dawn’s multi-disciplined career includes leadership & technical roles in Organization Development, Human Resources, Supplier Program Management, Quality, & Operations. She serves as adjunct affiliate faculty at Saint Louis University in the Master of Leadership and Organizational Development program. With over 10 years of executive coaching experience, she enjoys helping leaders and teams build capabilities & accomplish results. 

Dawn earned a Ph.D. in Organization Development, an MBA, & a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Statistics. Professional Certifications include: ICF PCC, SPHR, SHRM SCP, ASQ CQE, & ASQ CQA.
