A Change Would Do You Good: Change Leadership Principles for HR

HR often occupies a dangerous ground in many organizations: HR sees where positive changes can take place, but often lacks the positional authority to effect the much-needed change(s). How can HR find a way forward through this dilemma? This session will focus on leadership principles and practices for pursuing organizational and departmental change skillfully and diligently from the HR office. The presentation will feature helpful information from research and from years of experience.  Participants will have direct opportunity to reflect on their work places and to make plans for effecting change.

About Our Speaker
Alex serves as the Chief HR Officer for SeniorAge - a non-profit serving 17 counties in SW MO. He also serves Drury University as their Director of the Leadership Collaborative in the Graduate Studies Program. Alex serves on the Springfield Area HR Association’s Board as the Chair of the Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He is also a member of the Ozark Regional YMCA’s HR Advisory Council. Alex is also a two-time finalist for the MO SHRM Lead Award. On Friday and Saturday nights, you can find Alex playing bass guitar and harmonica for the rock band Brother Ray and the Sometimes Righteous. On Sunday mornings, Alex preaches at the Christian Church in Clever, MO.
