Shanise Johnson is the Director of Career & Workforce Readiness at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis, where she directs programming for the St. Louis Internship Program. Shanise is a proud product of the St. Louis Internship Program, where the goal is to provide hope and opportunity for high school students in financial need through paid summer internships, intensive employability training, and year-round college and career planning, in partnership with businesses and community organizations, and to build the St. Louis community by developing motivated, well-trained, and talented future employees. She is responsible for overall management and fiscal oversight, managing community partnerships, designing student programming, and directing evaluation and reporting.

Shanise holds a B.S. in business administration from St. Louis University, an M.B.A. from Webster University, an M.A. in teaching from Lindenwood University, and Business/Career Education Professional Certification for teaching at the secondary level. In 2016, she received a Diverse Business Leader award from the St. Louis Business Journal. When Shanise is not engaging with the students of SLIP, she is providing educational support, career counseling or event coordination to a number of organizations. Through her many endeavors, Shanise is committed to ensuring that every student she serves graduates from high school fully prepared for college and careers. 

Mallene Tatum is a spirited, agile and trained collaborator with over 10 years of purpose driven work serving youth and families. Her expertise includes recruitment, public speaking, training and coaching, crisis management and behavioral intervention. In March 2025, she joined the Career and Workforce Readiness team, St. Louis Internship Program (SLIP), of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis. Her current role as Workforce Employer Recruiter allows her to promote program visibility through employer relations and program impact through life coaching. Prior to joining SLIP, she worked in the child welfare field as an Eastern Region Case Manager Supervisor working to stabilize youth and families in foster care. She is coined for having a calming and welcoming demeanor in addition to her ability to easily connect and engage with others. All of these skills have been further developed within each of her professional roles. 

Work life balance is essential to Mallene, as is the need to truly enjoy the field of work where one spends their time professionally. She appreciates the golden opportunity to reestablish her career working alongside others devoted to strengthening our communities through targeted program implementation. Mallene is excited to work with other professionals whose goals align with cultivating change in young lives throughout the St. Louis region.
